In this edition, Pastor Brad interviews the owner of Daybreak Behavior, Mark Housman and the Clinical Director of Daybreak Behavior, Robin Houser.
The work that Daybreak Behavior is doing is groundbreaking in so many ways. They specialize in helping kids who have behavioral issues — along with the entire family unit and even the school. They have a success rate of 90%!
Daybreak helps aggressive children, and children with severe behaviors, overcome their behavior problems. They say, “Severe behavior problems in children isn’t hopeless. We help children through our day treatment program, mental health services, counseling services, and therapy services.”
Trauma seems to be a key issue for many children acting out, and the team at Daybreak Behavior is committed to getting to the core issues that have caused the trauma. They see great results in changing a child’s behaviors by doing this.
While there are only two other programs such as this nationwide, the therapies that are key in their program are available throughout the United States. Therefore, Mark and Robin talk about the therapies that a parent will want to be sure that a potential therapist has in their tool kit in order to help a child who has behavioral issues.
If you are a parent or know of someone who parents a child who is having behavioral issues at school and/or home, you will want to listen to this podcast and/or pass it along!
